Why Smartbleach Is Only Available At Dental Clinics

Non-dental teeth whitening providers, and manufacturers of home use tooth whitening trays and tooth paste, are only permitted to use low concentrations of the hydrogen peroxide whitening agent (6% hydrogen peroxide or equivalent) in the chemicals they use.  These systems will only deliver a limited whitening effect with each application and require many weeks to achieve an effect.  In addition they produce the whitening effect by dehydrating the teeth and etching the enamel.  As the teeth rehydrate the whitening effect will degrade and ongoing maintenance with acidic-peroxide whitening trays is necessary to stop the whitening effect from disappearing.

Your Smartbleach dental clinic is permitted to use concentrations of peroxide that are many times higher than non-dental teeth whitening.  In addition, the Smartbleach whitening gel is non-acidic and will-not etch the enamel or dehydrate the tooth structure.  This means the results of the Smartbleach treatment are long-lasting and will not bounce back in the days following treatment.

Trained operators in dental clinics can deliver the high quality treatment and your teeth will be properly checked to see that there are no minor cracks in your teeth that could cause discomfort if not identified prior to a teeth-whitening treatment.

A Patented Gel Activated By Pure Green Light From Smartlight 3LT Or Laser

Smartbleach® uses a special laser or Smartlight 3LT equipment to produce pure green light from the sunlight spectrum and matches this to a Smartbleach® patented non-acidic, whitening gel. The green light makes the gel more reactive and directly targets stained molecules in the tooth.  It achieves this with virtually no heating of the healthy tooth structure, which reduces the chance of post-treatment sensitivity and increases treatment safety.

A typical Smartbleach® teeth whitening treatment lasts 45-50 minutes with the new 3LT teeth whitening system, or around 60 to 90 minutes with the Smartbleach laser. Firstly, the teeth are cleaned and dried by the dentist. A protective coating is applied to the gums and then the special Smartbleach® red gel is applied to the teeth and the green light is applied to the teeth. An exciting aspect of Smartbleach® is that the results are visible immediately, so you can judge for yourself, after each application, when you have reached the desired result.
